Barry Usher, a Montana state legislator, recently shared updates on his legislative record and community engagement through a series of posts on his Twitter account.
On May 2, 2026, Usher addressed the status of Senate Bill 315 from 2021 regarding medical care for infants born alive. He stated: “The Rest of the Story”:

is already MT Law requiring medical care for babies born alive 2) another bill was coming that would put this on the ballot to make this a part of the MT State Constitution. Usher’s remarks indicate that existing Montana law already mandates medical care for infants born alive and that further legislative action was being considered to enshrine these requirements in the state constitution.
