Montana State University-Northern is pleased to announce that they are getting closer to fundraising goals for their new athletic complex.

According to Havre Daily News, the university announced in late March they were given two more large donations towards their goal of $3 million that will be used to build a new football stadium.

One of the most recent donations was from Duchscher Kapperud Insurance in Havre for $25,000 and the other was from Ezzie's Wholesale in Malta for $100,000.

Those two donations brought the total amount raised to just $400,000 shy of the total goal. While there is still money to raise, the university is grateful for every bit that is donated.

These recent donors are also pleased to be able to help the local educational institution with its new athletic complex.

“Ezzie's has been proudly serving the Hi-Line for over 50 years,” Ezzie's president Bill Myers said. “Supporting the stadium project is our way of showing our appreciation for this community and our pride in MSU-Northern.”

MSU-Northern Foundation executive director Shantel Cronk commented on the donations as construction on the new complex has already begun and it is hoped that it can be finished in time for the fall 2020 season.

“As you can see by these recent gifts from Ezzie's and Duschscher Kapperud, we continue to see monthly progress in fundraising, but are asking the community, alumni and Northern supporters to help us get over the $3M mark by August,” Cronk said. “This stadium will have a rippling effect around this region and will invigorate the community and the MSU-N campus.”

A large portion of the money raised has been donated by alumni, as well as individuals and businesses that are passionate about the university and its impact on the community as a whole.
