Glasgow schools pass general operating levy that hasn't been approved since 2015

The residents of the Glasgow School District voted in favor of a motion that was a magnanimous victory for students and teachers on May 5. The vote was associated with the school’s general operating levy.

The district’s levy passed with 1,049 votings in favor of the motion while and 835 voted no. Seventeen voters did not vote one way or the other for the levy. There was a total of 1,901 ballots cast.

According to the Glasgow Courier, voters haven't approved a general levy since 2015.

Glasgow Schools superintendent Wade Sundby told the Courier that he wanted to thank the community for their support. “Just the relief that we have support in our community,” he said.

Sundby added that the times are extremely hard for everyone in the community. He also heaped praise on the community for their diligent and unwavering support.

“These are hard times and the support from the community is greatly appreciated,” Sundby said.
