Malta Public Schools has hired five new leaders and staff members for the 2020-2021 school year, according to the Phillips County News.
The school system hired a new superintendent after the previous superintendent, Kris Kuehn, stepped down last year, the outlet reported. Matt Genger will be taking over Kuehn's position.
Others who were hired or transferred include Rawnie Crasco, who is taking over for Malta High School teacher Kevin Ebert; Corey Clark, who is replacing Cadance Wipplinger as principal of Malta Elementary School; Travis Somerfeld, who is replacing Shawn Bleth as principal of Malta Middle School; and Bleth is now taking over as principal at Malta High School, replacing Tracy Fisher, PCN reported.
Genger was hired in May. He has held positions of principal and teacher and was also superintendent in Shelby for several years, according to the media outlet.
The district also hired Patrick Sargent to take over as transportation director, as Kuehn's departure left a vacancy in that role.
