As COVID-19 cases surge in Montana, Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney continues to make a series of campaign videos on Twitter, according to the Montana Republic Party’s website.
“Another day of more than 300 new #covid19mt cases reported – including 31 in Toole County and 29 more in NE MT’s Roosevelt County, which is now third-highest total of active cases among counties, despite only 11,000 population. #mtpol #mtnews,” tweeted chief political reporter for MT Television Network Mike Dennison in response to the rising number of infections.
Cooney, instead, is making a series of campaign videos featuring a rubber band mascot in an attempt to go viral on Twitter, the Montana Republican Party reported.
The Montana Republican Party also reported that earlier this year, Cooney claimed he was too busy with the pandemic to follow state ethics laws – and called his ethics violation a “small price to pay for leadership in an unprecedented crisis.”
