The Montana Department of Commerce has announced that 20 companies in Montana have been given Workforce Recovery grants.
One of these businesses is a Forsyth business. Deny the Fly Maintenance, Inc. has received $30,000. The money will be used to combat the COVID-19 crisis, which caused many employees to be laid off. The grants will be used to rehire employees who were laid off due to the budgetary impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
A total of $895,000 will be received by the 20 companies in an effort to rehire 152 full-time workers.
“Commerce launched the temporary Workforce Recovery program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to support businesses that are ready to rehire workers,” Wayne Johnston, Business Assistance Bureau chief at Commerce, said in a press release. “This program is reimbursing businesses across Montana for rebuilding their workforce and bringing jobs back.”
Leaders at the Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund Workforce Recovery program said the fund will compensate a business for the earnings of full-time employees. The jobs must be continual jobs that are generated and sustained for at least six months.
Restitution of up to $7,500 is available per job in high-poverty counties.
