**SCAM ALERT**
The Sidney Police Department has recently received numerous reports about individuals making scam phone calls to our residents. Often times these individuals will claim to work for the Amazon fraud department and/or some other major corporation or government agency. Additionally, they will claim that your social security card/ benefits, driver’s license, and/or bank account/s will be suspended if you do not provide them with information or money. They may also try to tell you not to contact your local law enforcement or may even claim to be a member of local law enforcement. SPD HIGHLY encourages residents to not give out personal information to these types of individuals and to contact SPD via the non- emergency phone number should they have any questions.
