Valley View Home achieved a perfect overall rating of 5 out of 5 for the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) show. This score surpasses the Montana nursing home average of 3.1.
The nursing facility offered 96 beds—12 more than the state average as of the first quarter of 2026—and cared for an average of 54.8 residents throughout the period.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate that the nation’s older population continues to rise while younger age brackets shrink. Between 2020 and 2024, the 65-and-older population grew by 13%, while those under 18 declined by 1.7%. The older adult population has increased considerably, from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million as of 2024.
A 2021 analysis estimates that nearly half of those 65 and older—about 28 million—will need long-term care services and support. The same study foresees that more than a third of this cohort will eventually require nursing home placement.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
